President's Corner

WELCOME

I am honored to have been selected to serve as President of the Fayette Daybreak Rotary by my fellow Rotarians. I understand that I have one big challenge ahead of me and a great task to lead an outstanding group of professionals. This is a small, yet very motivated group.

This year our club will face many challenges. We have lost several members due to things out of our control. And it will be my challenge to keep morale up and going in our club. We continue to focus on our goals in the five areas of service while having fun. We all entered Rotary to do good work in our community and take on our mission of “Service Above Self”.

One of our main focus areas will be to increase our club membership. We would like to invite you to come and visit with us. We meet on Thursday mornings at 7:15 am at the Wyndham Conference Center in Peachtree City.

While we are a small and mighty group, we will take on the challenge of planting a tree for each of our members somewhere in our county. And we will take on the Warm Springs Cottage Project also. We will spend time and hopefully have a fundraiser to help with that which will be a Polio Project for us.

We have several projects that we do each year. We have Kid’s ID program at Tyrone’s Founders Day, Tree Lighting Ceremony at Shamrock Park with Hot Chocolate and Cookies, collection of Soles for Souls, Apples for Teachers, and our big project - the Paws for a Purpose annual dog walk which is enjoyed by all. These are just a few of our projects and we have several others. Plus we are in the process of planning another.

As we begin this New Year with our new challenges we would like to continue to put Service Above Self and to "Reach Within to Embrace Humanity". This year's logo is beautiful and as you can see it is made of three hearts: 1. Family (for our rotary family as well as our personal family) 2. Continuity (continue to do the great work of Rotary) 3. Change (Be the change you wish to see in the world).

In closing, I would like to invite you again to come join us for breakfast. We are an early morning club, but you will leave refreshed and ready to take on your day. Together we can "Change the World", "Be a Hero" and continue the great work of Rotary.

Sincerely,

Lisa Brewer
